Q. What is #ILGive?

#ILGive is an initiative of Forefront. Forefront is Illinois' state membership association of philanthropy, nonprofits, advisors, social enterprises, and other organizations that works to build a vibrant social impact sector for all the people of Illinois. Forefront created #ILGive, our local #GivingTuesday campaign, focused on giving specifically in Illinois. #ILGive is an opportunity to highlight the nonprofits in our region and all that they do to contribute to the growth and success of our communities.


Q. When is #ILGive Day?

#ILGive Day is on November 29, 2016 from midnight to 11:59 PM.


Q. #ILGive is November 29. Why are you accepting donations early?

We're participating in a research project with Texas A+M University testing donor behavior. We understand that donations that come before November 29 come with greater fees, but this also gives us greater insight into how donors give and what incentivizes them. If you don't want donors to give to you before the date, then let your donors know that you only want them to donate on #ILGive on November 29. Thank you for understanding!

The Donate button on your profile page will be active beginning on November 1st.


Q. Is my organization eligible to participate?

Organizations that are verified 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofits that are headquartered or provide services in Illinois.


Q. Why should my organization participate?

#ILGive is a great way to boost your organization’s fundraising efforts. #ILGive provides eligible nonprofits the opportunity to reach potential new donors and provides the type of visibility that only a state-wide effort of this type can generate. To make the most of these efforts your organization should ensure that your profile is on the site well ahead of #ILGive Day and is custom-branded to tell your story.


Q. How can my nonprofit participate?

Search for your organization by name or EIN here. If you do not see your organization listed, you will have the opportunity to create your organization’s profile. You can check out the support articles to walk you through the process, or you can email info@ilgive.com for more information.


Q. How much does it cost?

It is FREE for organizations to participate in #ILGive and to collect donations on Nov. 29th, 2016.

To maintain a profile on the GiveGab platform year round, GiveGab retains a 5% campaign management fee from all donations, capped at $20 per donation. Except on November 29, 2016, which is #GivingTuesday. The GiveGab fee will be 0% on this day.

Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.2% + 30¢ for all major credit cards (3.5% + 30¢ for American Express) on a per transaction basis. Donors are given the option to cover the fees and a majority of them do. If they cover the processing fees, 100% of their online charitable gift will go to your organization.


Q. What is GiveGab?

GiveGab is an online giving platform that helps nonprofits raise money, engage donors, and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy-to-use products that allow organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.


Q. What is the deadline to ensure my participation in #ILGive Day?

The deadline to register and have guaranteed inclusion in #ILGive is November 18, 2016. Register today. To gain the benefit from the tools available, from your volunteers engaged in #ILGive and to reach new donors, register today and start promoting #ILGive as part of your year-end campaign. Your profile on GiveGab is available 365 days a year for fundraising and volunteer management.


Q. Can more than one person claim admin access on our organization’s page?

Yes, pending approval from existing administrators. All administrators will need to create profiles on GiveGab. Every person who has administrative access will receive emails about updates to their page.


Q. How much of the donation will go to our organization?

A GiveGab retains a 5% campaign management fee from all donations (except on November 29, 2016! #GivingTuesday!), capped at $20 per donation. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.2% + 30¢ for all major credit cards (3.5% + 30¢ for American Express) on a per transaction basis. 100% of all donations are tax- deductible for the donor. All donations will be officially receipted for tax purposes by GiveGab.


Q. When will we receive the donated funds?

Organizations will receive all donations, less any uncovered processing fees, within 3 business days via direct deposit as long as bank routing and account information has been verified. GiveGab uses a PCI Level I compliant payment service, Stripe, to ensure that all financial data is secure.


Q. Will our nonprofit receive donor contact information? How?

All organizations that participate in #ILGive will be able to access and download a .CSV of their donations via their administrative dashboard on GiveGab. The report is updated in real-time and will include the donation payout date for bank account reconciliation, donation information (including a breakdown of the fees), and the donor's name and contact information. Q. What is #ILGive?

Q. Who can donate?

Anyone may donate. Donations through the #ILGive online portal to charitable nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by GiveGab.


Q. What is GiveGab?

GiveGab is an online giving platform that helps nonprofits raise money, engage donors, and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. GiveGab offers a full portfolio of simple and easy-to-use products that allow organizations to function in a more streamlined manner.


Q. How will donations be distributed?

Each donation made to a participating nonprofit will be disbursed directly from GiveGab via direct deposit within 48-72 hours.


Q. How much of my donation goes to the nonprofit?

You are given the option to cover the fees and if you choose this option, 100% of your online charitable gift will go to the receiving organization. All donations are final and cannot be refunded.


Q. Who will receive my contact information?

The organization(s) you choose to support will have access to your name and email address. This information is used solely to send thank you messages, provide the option to receive future notifications, and to notify you of future activities.

You have the option to make your donation anonymous. Anonymous donations will be displayed as "Anonymous." on the organization's page. Organizations will still have access to your name and email address.


Q. Do I need to create an account with GiveGab?

No. You do not need to create an account to make a donation. The benefits of creating an account include having your tax receipts collected in one location, being able to track your donations, follow the charities you support, and engage in future volunteering and donations. Your tax receipt is emailed immediately upon processing your donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on U.S. taxes, you should retain the donation receipt as an official record.


Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?

Yes! Simply visit https://www.ilgive.com on your mobile device.


Q. Can I pre-schedule a donation for #ILGive Day?

You can give to a nonprofit through the #ILGive portal before or after #ILGive Day. Although some organizations are receiving matching gifts and therefore might require that your donation be made within a specific time period. Check with your favorite Nonprofit for more information.


Q. What if my preferred organization is not listed?
